A Happy Easter-2014

The day before Easter my siblings and I colored eggs. This was a fun and easy project and we all enjoyed it, especially Sören and Esther.

The finished products-minus one egg that fell and cracked
For Easter this year, we had a yummy breakfast as a family.  My Mom made delicious overnight french toast-Strawberry Cheesecake! I'm not a fan of cheesecake, but this was a really great dish.
YUM!

The fancy table

We went out front to our Grace Garden and read the Easter story of Jesus' Resurrection found in Matthew 28

Not too long after breakfast, we drove over to church for an Easter service.  After the sermon, Lillian, Sören, Esther and a bunch of other kids sang a song about Jesus' Resurrection after dying for our sins on the cross.  All the kids did a wonderful job!

After wishing friends "Happy Easter" and chatting for a little while, we drove home and then had a potluck with a few families from our church. It was cloudy most of the day, but it didn't rain!

Skagit Valley Tulips 2014

Last Wednesday, Dad drove us out to see the Skagit Valley Tulips. We parked at Christianson's Nursery where we met Aunt Julie and Elin. We walked around the nursery and then headed across the street to the tulip fields.  Beautiful!  After that, we went to a produce shop and enjoyed ice cream!

I did a tulip post last year. Here's a link to that post: http://littletribeofbenjamin.blogspot.com/2013/05/tulips.html

I took some pictures of flowers:

Esther's 5th Birthday!!!!!

A little over a week after we returned home from California, Esther's 5th birthday arrived. We had a yummy breakfast of cinnamon and  custard and then she opened gifts. Esther requested a "Frozen" Birthday theme. It is a favorite movie in my house. :)

A happy 5 year-old!

Lillian and I gave her the movie Frozen!
Dad and Mom gave Esther the Frozen "Anna" doll!

After a great breakfast, we all climbed into the car and drove down to Lynnwood to go ice skating. Esther's friend Maryn, her family, Aunt Julie and Elin came for the party.

Before skating, we went out to lunch at Claim Jumper Restaurant with the Gates family:

Gina, Mrs. Gates, Maryn, Mom, & Esther

Dad, Sören, Lillian, Livy, & me

After lunch, our waiter brought out a red velvet cupcake for the Birthday Girl...yum!
