Fun Run

Yesterday morning, after a lot of training, Lillian and I participated in a 5K Fun Run benefiting Pregnancy Choices, a pro-life clinic in our area. The run is called Run for Your Mum, which honors moms and babies. We had a fundraising page and we raised $150!!! The run felt long, but we did it! Lillian completed the race in 28.35 and I did in 32.47.

Here is a picture of us before the run:

Mother's Day 2014!

Today was an absolutely beautiful sunny day to celebrate Mother's Day!  We started the day off with a yummy breakfast of German Pancakes made by Dad and then we headed to church.  After that, we had Aunt Julie, Uncle JR, and baby Elin over for a Mother's Day/Birthday party!! Aunt Julie's birthday was today (and her first Mother's Day!) and Uncle JR had his birthday a couple days ago. What a great day to celebrate Moms and birthdays!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!  Love you!!!

Butterfly Happenings

A couple weeks ago, my mom ordered some butterflies online as a school project for Sören and Esther. They arrived a week later as caterpillars. We all had fun watching the lifecycle of them changing from caterpillars, to their chrysalis, and to when they hatch and become beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. On a nice sunny day, we all headed out to the front yard and let them go free.

Here are a couple pictures of us letting them go:

About four days later, we were eating dinner outside when all of the sudden, a butterfly came and started to flutter all around us. After a few minutes, it landed on Sören's head! It stayed there for a couple minutes and then it came and landed on my arm! We think it might have been one of the same butterflies we let go earlier in the week. It's so cool how God works and blesses us even in the little things!
