A Snowy Mountain Adventure

Last Saturday morning, at about 10:30 AM, we took off in our Suburban and headed for Mt. Baker. We were going sledding with some friends of ours and met them at their houses.  Then, we embarked on our adventure! We drove for about 2 hours or so until we started climbing high into the Cascade Mountains. As we started up, it was a mix of rain and snow falling onto the cars. After we had climbed higher, it started to snow. Soon we reached the Mt. Baker Ski Area, and all the kids (9 of us total) were SO excited to have finally reached Mt. Baker, especially because of the fact that there was about 10 feet of snow on the ground.

Our entire time up there, it snowed heavily as we sledded and played in the pure white mountain snow. We had some trouble walking in the snow because it was so deep and we kept sinking. It was good exercise though! I had no idea we were walking across a lake until my mom said so after we had reached the sledding spot. Turns out it was Picture Lake!! I was shocked that we had just crossed it. :)

THANK YOU Mom for taking almost all the photos during our snow day!!!! :)

Everyone havin' fun :)
We had a great time sledding with a few crashes which resulted in snow boots getting stuck in the snow. After a couple hours of fun, people started getting cold and we headed back to the car to warm up. Some of the kids did more playing too....

After having the cupcakes Mrs. Gates made to celebrate Keaton's birthday (they were really good! :) ) and a little more time in the snow, we drove back to Bellingham so the moms could go to Trader Joe's. After that we went out to dinner at a nice Hawaiian Restaurant.

What a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!

After breakfast and school work, we drove over to church for Family School. We write speeches to read to our class and do praise and worship. Sören and Lillian also take a Spanish class. Since it was Valentine's Day, we enjoyed a little party, exchanged valentines, and played a game.
