Lillian's 10th Birthday!!!!!!!

September brought Lillian's 10th Birthday.  She had been anticipating it the whole year!  For breakfast,  Mom made cinnamon rolls and dad made our family favorite, danish custard.   YUM!!!

Skagit County Fair!

This year at the county fair was extra fun because Auntie Sharon drove up for it. Lillian and I are in a local 4-H club and had entered lots of things we made at the fair.

 Unfortunately, we don't have many photos uploaded on here due to camera issues. : (   But here are a few:

Lake Wenatchee State Park - Part 2 - A Wild Goose Chase---kinda

Dad was sitting around the campfire ring, flipping through an old hiking book from the 50's or 60's and came across a hike near an old mining town. Then the photograph fooled our eyes because then there were no trees blocking the buildings. I really really wanted to go, and so we decided to drive to it the following morning..............

An hour there and back on a dirt road for about an hour wasn't the greatest thing in the world. After an hour of driving up a dirt road, we were very shocked at all the time we spent driving for THIS!!! The mining town was there, but there were trees surrounding all the buildings and on top of that all that as private property! (It is still in operation) The main reason it was (sort of) worth the bumpy drive is that the mountains were SO awesome! As you scroll through the pictures below, you'll be able to tell that we still had a wonderful time together and still had a little fun.

Later, as we drove another hour down the dirt road again to the main road, We stopped at one of the few Forest Service campgrounds. No one was camping there. It was so pretty there.....meadows, river, mountains, forests. We spent some 45 minutes there...................
